Pearls of Wisdom

After 30 years of teaching, I became used to sharing bits of wisdom and inspiration with coworkers in the halls between classes and in the coffee room. Upon retirement a few years ago, I realized I missed that interaction which was so beneficial in my life.A friend gave me this book PEARLS OF WISDOM and I find I can open it up to any page and receive a quotation which gives me a new perspective on a situation, another way of looking at things, a method of having beauty in the ordinary.It's like having my own personal spiritual coach. For example, I just thought, HOW CAN I BE A BETTER PERSON TODAY and opened to this thought:"When you notice weakness in another, aim instead to recognize a strength. The awareness that everyone has value will allow you to shift your focus." I intend to practice this today, beginning with MYSELF! ! ! Dadi Janki's words of wisdom are more helpful to me in my life than the jewels which sit in my jewelry box.
