Get Wise Before You Get Old

I awoke one Sunday morning intent on reading a few pages of this slender little book and did not put it down until I was done. There are few books that make my list of "Books to Buy For Others" but Patti's Pearls is one of them. From her dedication to son Zuri at the very beginning, to the precious "pearl" of wisdom at the end, the book held me to its pages. As Patti fully admits, these are not her Pearls but words of wisdom passed on to her from family, friends, and acquaintances throughout her lifetime. Precious passages that now influences the way she lives a life on the backside of 50. Whether you call these jewels, proverbs, cliches or just "sayins'", you will be moved and inspired to live life with greater honesty, compassion and enthusiasm.

PATTI IS AN INSPIRATION

Not only does she have a gift of song but she has a gift of gab. This book is truly uplifting. Unlike many other so-called inspirational books, Patti doesn't point the finger at everyone else. She starts with herself and shows through her experiences what she has learned hoping that others can also learn. She shares her ups and downs, good times and bad, mistakes and achievements so that the reader can gain knowledge on how to live like she says genuinely, joyfully, and generously. Patti is in a class all by herself. Keep up the good work Patti both in music and literature. I urge all to buy this small but wonderful book as well as her other masterpieces both in song and writing.

A Gem of a book by a gem of a lady...

Now, I may be prejudicial, but I am a true Patti fan. And have read and or bought her books and CD's. This book is real good. In it, she touches on her recent divorce, How the song "Nobody is Supposed to be Here" was written especially for her, yet, she turned it down, and it became a hit for Deborah Cox.Her family, her setbacks and more. Reading this book is like sitting down with your favorite girlfriend or older lady friend and letting her tell you the real deal. You won't be disappointed folks. Go out and read it.
