A fun girls' series...

As different as they are, 11-year-olds Lauren, Kate, Stephanie and Patti have one thing in common...they're the Sleepover Friends, getting together every Friday night to giggle over boys, pig out on junk food and watch movies in their sleeping bags. In the series premiere, Lauren, Kate and Stephanie have just decided to include Patti, a new girl in their class, at the week's sleepover. To try to make shy Patti laugh and pull her into their circle, Kate imitates the woman in a cheesy movie they were watching, pretending to put a curse on Patti. All the girls laugh...until Patti really does begin having bad luck! Is it really because of what Kate said? How can they fix things for their new friend?

cool!

One night, Kate pretends to cast a bad luck spell on Patti. Everyone laughs until some really unlucky things start happening whenever Patti is around.

Great Fun for kids

When I was much younger I adored Sleepover Friends, the 2 I found..They were always a hard book to find.I recently found and read Patti's Luck, the 1st in the fun series. It was good like the other 2.Although there was a lot of superstition in this particular book,I recommend this series to girls of around 12.Each one is a short, and fun read.

Just like the Baby Sitters Club, actually better

I first read this in 6th grade. It was just like the Baby Sitters Club, actually I liked it better. However I recently reread it and so that was why I gave it a lower rating. I don't think it's really appropriate for young kids because of the witchcraft and use of ouija boards. These books are very inspiring and well written and the girls give kids lots of neat ideas for fun sleepovers, but there are some things such as communicating with the dead and ouija boards and witchcraft that should never be tampered with. It may be all in fun, but not if you let it run your life like Patti seemed to. However these books are really good. Although not very deep, I like them better than the Baby sitter books. About the truth or dare thing, well I did that after I read this book--knocked on some guy's bedroom window just like Lauren does! Neat book.

For girls from grades 4-6.

Lauren, Kate, and Stephanie are sleepover friends. That means that they spend week-ends eating lots of snacks and watching movies. When shy Patti arrives at Riverhurst School, Stephanie wants her to join the group. Suddenly, everything starts to go wrong and Patti believes that she is cursed! Patti decides that she can't jeopardize her friends too! When will these disasters stop? If you like this book, you'll love the rest of the series "Sleepover Friends"
