This autobiography of Boreham, preacher and contemporary of Spurgeon and Moody, is encouraging as it relates personal accounts of God's protection and provision for him. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Boreham writes with such professionalism, yet warmth and gentility. He is not a preacher, but simply shares his heart about himself and his life. He has had the most incredible, yet simple life, and this book is a joy to read. While I buy any copy I can, I cannot imagine someone disposing of their own copy! He encourages others to work hard if they want to write or be published. He is insightful and aware of everything that goes on around him. I buy copies to give away because I want others to experience the delight of reading this book. It is one of a kind - I have several of his books of essays, but you must know more about the author to be able to enjoy the essays. This book opens the door on Boreham. It is a "MUST" read. Why else would a book retailing for $9.99 sell for $22.00 used? M.
F.W.Boreham Recalls Life in a Simpler Time

Boreham has been quoted lately by a popular Christian apologist by the name of Ravi Zachariah. He takes the reader through his childhood in England at a time when Moody and Spurgeon were holding meetings there. His dry wit makes his parents' struggles to feed, clothe and educate 10 children a delight to read. He died in 1959, but this book brings back an innocent time that many Americans can still remember.
