An early work that bares little resemblance to her later books.

Quick synopsis only because there is not yet one here. A sort of Cinderella story, American girl illtreated by wicked aunt and uncle, whisked off to England to be recognized as illegitimate grandchild of an Earl. The whole American aspect seems irrelevant and the plot is somewhat facile. I KNOW that Ms Jewel can produce some complex characters but there are none here. This book strikes one as a very early writing attempt, which indeed it is. A pity. I don’t recommend.
