Helps every church-goer understand their pastor & themselves

This book is written to pastors, but it is helpful to every church-goer. Too often, church members put their pastor on a pedestal ... one on which he feels very uncomfortable, and McKinley explains that well. They also assume that he is endowed with the ability to live at some 'higher plane' than 'regular' people. This book gives each of us a better insight into a pastor's life, and helps us to remember that pastors are just 'regular people' that happen to be employed directly in God's work. The messages in the book would be especially helpful to those serving on their church's 'Pastoral Support' Committee. I like the format, with 3-4 page messages. I found it best taken just a few at a time, so I could consider what I learned. To read this slowly will require some discipline, since you really want to read 'just one more.' My wife read it in one sitting, and then admitted that she would have gotten more in short bursts! (Steve McKinley was pastor of our church for several years, and remains a close family friend.)
