Rose Sims has done a fantastic job writing this book of her growing up years with papa. They search for God together and found Him together. The rest of the book tells of the life of both papa and Rose as they grow in the Grace of Jesus Christ. A must read book.
My Aunt Rose is the author. Her father was a promise keeper.

Dr. Rose is mom's sister. Her book is about my grandfather. It's unique! It gives the reader a lot of room for thought. It brings many challenges: my Danish heritage, emmigration to a new country, a shipwreck, facing the unknown in a new land, old European customs, marriage between social classes, the value of hard work in rural America near Ames, Iowa, Ascov, Minnesota, and Miltown/Balsam Lake, Wisconsin, the Great Depression, my grandfather's commitment to God, my grandmother, their nine children, the Nelsons, the work of the church, and my Grandfather Holgar's ultimate mission field in Alaska during World War II. Like my Aunt Rose, I also agree, you'll laugh, you'll cry, once you pick up her book, you'll not want to put it down. It is worth reading several times. It opens the doors to a time most of us forgot.., realizing America's ultimate challenge is to revamp American values, revitalize religion in the American home, giving God the credit we have overlooked for so long.
