Painting the Artic from the safety of your warm living room!

Being a fan of David Bellamy's watercolor paintings and books, I couldn't pass this one up. It is not a book on how to paint. It is accounts of the struggles he encountered going to the artic to sketch and paint the harshest places of the world. . . The one sketch on page 140 is of an ancient human skull visible under cairns. . . . Most of the pictures are stunning paintings of snow covered mountains and ice. There are paintings of polar bears, dog sledges, and seals. . . It is a feast for the eyes! David has a very interesting way of sharing his stories. He recounts dangers and fears of polar bears. . .He hoped his singing would scare them away! I am really enjoying the book!
