Insightful and helpful

This book contained a lot of diverse information about overeating. It's been very helpful. Most books devoted to the problem of overeating and overweight have one or two main themes that are expanded to fill a whole book. This text contains many kinds of information, much of it quite practical.

not alone

I have struggled with night eating for many years. When I would speak to my doctor about this he was very unaware of this type of eating. I am very pleased that this has been researched. I believe that most people were unaware that we were not the only ones eating at night. The book was a huge help to me. Thank you, Ellen Ochs

Simple Book About Understanding And Overcoming NES

**** This is a simple, but thorough book about Night Eating Syndrome, a quick read (only 167 pages), but full of information. It starts out with assistance in evaluating if you have NES...however, I think that this book would be helpful to anyone who overeats at night, whether or not they fit all of the criteria for NES. It includes chapters on how to rule out other eating disorders and physical disorders, the biology and psychology behind night eating, hormonal involvement in night eating, types of night and eating and suggestions/plans for overcoming each. The interventions are pretty predictable, but still helpful, including journaling, imagery, relaxation, and other behavioral interventions. Support, medications, perseverance, and Internet resources are also discussed. All in all I thought it was a fine, easy to understand book about a little-discussed disorder just now coming to public attention. ****

Thought I was alone with this.

This book was amazing to me. With just the intro and first chapter read, I was able to adjust my behavior enough to minimize eating long into the nite and early A.M. And that was just a beginning. It took me 40+ years to find out this is not just my problem. If you know someone or if that someone is you, come out of hiding and get control over your life. This effects all aspects of life. To find this, was overwhelming and freeing.

Great Book!

I found this book to be very informative and helpful. It was nice to know that I am not alone and to learn ways to handle my night eating.
