60's Rock Legend Janis Joplin said it best, "All my friends are ....

....on my payroll." That's the screw that most of the plotting on this basically, pretty-darn-good book turns upon. It's also not a great book which is a shame because--watch out!--this is going to be the next big, break-out hard cover author from our genre. The shame is that if this author follows in the illustrious footsteps of Iris Johansson or Linda Howard, Elizabeth Lowell, etc., she'll amp up the violence/mayhem to reach the "thriller" market and decrease the relationshop/emotional component of the romance mkt. Just the other day, I picked up/put down the new Elizabeth Lowell novel THREE times even w/30% off because I know longer trust this once superior author. But for now, all is well for the readers of the"Bodyguard" series. At first I had some doubts because our male lead is not the typical Alpha male we expect. In fact, he's more like damaged goods sent on a high profile mission to protect a female rock star known as much for her "raunch n' roll" personality as her music. All is not as it seems, on all fronts as the story heats up and both characaters grow beyond their initial limitations. The sensuality is rough and intense and totally fitting the characters. Not a lot of hearts n' flowers, but not an"ick" in sight either. If you don't read closely, there is even the temptation to fall into a big plot-hole, but --pay attention--because this author sure did. That possible plot-hole quickly was filled in. A fast-paced charmer to speed through with all your great rock records blaring in the background. A little Aerosmith, anyone?

FANTASTIC!!!

Cindy Gerard really hits the mark with her latest in The Bodyguard series. When Jason "Plowboy" Wilson finds himself earning money to get beat up on live television, he realizes that it's time to take control of his life. After five years in Iraq, his dream of becoming a police officer is gone due to hearing loss. He decides to call his old squad leader, Nolan Garrett, who had helped him out before. Nolan immediately offers him a position with E.D.E.N. and Jase soon finds himself on his first assignment. It doesn't matter to Jase that he's the "bodyguard" to a (seemingly) spoiled rock and roll star. He won't let Nolan down after taking a chance on him. Sweet Baby Jane (Janey) Perkins is incredulous when she sees who her manager wants to be in charge of security. To Janey, he doesn't look a day over 18. Jase and Janey both soon realize that their first impression of the other are as far from the truth as possible. Far from being a spoiled and rich rocker, Janey is a down-to-earth girl who got a break at an early age and is doing something she loves. Janey knows Jase is a hero and has every confidence that he can protect her. I don't want to give the mystery away, so here is a brief description. :) After people start dying, Janey and Jase realize that things aren't always what they seem. What they would assume is Janey's stalker being more bold might be something more sinister. There are many people in Janey's life that would like to see her hurt and/or dead. I didn't figure out the mystery until the page before it was revealed. Enjoy this next installment in The Bodyguard series!!

I LOVE this series!!

Cindy Gerard has once again delivered, in what I'm thinking is her best to date. When Jason "Plowboy" Wilson hits rock bottom, he turns to his good buddy Nolan Garrett to take a job offer at E.D.E.N. he'd previously turned down. His first assignment is to gaurd the wildly poplular "Baby Jane"--a rock star!! Jase quickly figures out that there is much more to the petite Jane than you could ever guess--and that she is capable of keeping it together, even when there are people dying, bird hearts are being left for her, and she's being stalked...He's impressed, and reluctantly attracted. For Jane, who has spent the last two years celibate after being hurt, Jase's HOT body, baby blue eyes, and gentle way of handling her are too much too resist--and although he's trying to keep her strictly in the "job" category, she's made up her mind she wants more...The suspense is tight, and will have you guessing all over the place. The romance is sexy and sweet, and the love scenes HOT. There is nothing else you could ask for--except for the next story to hurry along!!

Excellent Suspense!

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book! I couldn't wait to get my hands on this latest in the Bodyguard series and then could not put it down!
