Book report on "over the Hill at Fourteen"

Book ReportBy : Renea Myers For my English class I read a novel called "Over the Hill at Fourteen" by Jamie Callan. It was a very good book, about becoming a teenager and how much changes you go through while becoming a teenager. The main character is Sylvia Eisenstein she is a beautiful teen model who is turning into a teenager and does not want to. I thought a strength was that even though she is a model any teenager can relate to her life. The author made the book realistic. I thought the length of the book was just right, not to short or to long. I think mostly teenage girls would enjoy and relate to the book the best. The basic plot of the story is about Sylvia being really into herself and her career. She cannot except that she is becoming a teenager and certain parts of her body are going to change. She always wants to look the same and keep her same young body. Eventually she learns to accept this fact and begins to be in commercials. Eventually she even stops being so into herself and realizes that she is not the hottest person on the planet. Overall, I thought the book was really interesting and true about teenage girls. The author had a good view on what teenage girls go through while growing up.
