What I enjoyed the most about this book was the relationship between the 2 main characters

Out of Sight by Stella Cameron Paranormal Romance- April 27th, 2010 4 stars Familiar characters return in this 3rd installment of the Court of Angels paranormal series. I loved the combination of paranormal and contemporary in this book. Out of Sight was a fun read and I really connected to the 2 main characters and enjoyed reading about them. Poppy Fortune has always felt inadequate. Her paranormal powers have always been weak and she can't do things the rest of her paranormal family takes for granted. Added to this is the guilt she feels for trying to break her brother's relationship with the love of his life. Although she had good intentions Poppy realizes the harm she could have done. But trouble brews when a wealthy and influential admirer of Poppy's is accused of murder and asks Poppy for help. Unfortunately he may to be connected to the Embrans (their arch enemies). But when Poppy tries to help him the annoyingly confident and sexy Sykes Millet keeps interfering. Sykes is a powerful paranormal but his different coloring has `cursed' him. He hides his unhappiness from his family and keeps himself separate. But the evil Embran are plotting and Sykes finds himself embroiled in trying to stop them while discovering the secret behind the mysterious keys behind Court of Angels. But what worries him most is the irrepressible and wildly attractive Poppy. Poppy has always attracted him but when he finds she might be in danger he is willing to bare his feeling to keep her safe. I have read Stella Cameron's historical and suspense books but found this new series more complex and fascinating. I really hope she continues to write more books with a paranormal theme because she excels at it. The only problem I had was that I read the 3rd book without having read the 1st or 2nd! So while the author does a good job up keeping the new reader up to speed I felt there were nuances that I missed and sections where I wasn't sure the implications of because I hadn't read the earlier books. So I would highly recommend reading the previous books. What I enjoyed the most about this book was the relationship between the 2 main characters. Both were extremely likable and I felt very empathetic towards them. I really felt that they had found the `other' to complete them. Both feel they are outcasts. Sykes because of his family curse and Poppy because she lacks the ability to read minds like the rest of the paranormals. Both are attracted to each other but have a difficult time verbalizing their feelings. It was great when they finally were able to let their guards down and allow their mutual attraction blossom! Overall, I really enjoyed this book especially the genuine connection between the 2 main characters but I did feel I missed out on a lot not having read the first 2 books and will be going out to get them. This was a smooth, fast read that was easy to get addicted to! The only reason I didn't grade it higher is because I feel I didn't get as much

Fantastic!

This was a great end to the Court of Angels Trilogy!!!! Stella Cameron is at the top of her game with these books. It is best to start with the first book and work your way to this one or you will be lost. But trust me the trilogy is worth reading!!! This was filled with suspense, romance, paranormal and voodoo craziness.

outstanding paranormal romantic thriller

In New Orleans Sculptor Sykes Millet may be a psychic able to read and control the minds of others, but like his ancestors for centuries and his relatives today (see Out of Mind and Out of Body), he cannot prevent the curse from destroying those he loves. In the Court of Angels Jude Millet insists he needs to find Harmony and the missing keys to open up its supernatural powers while also fighting the evil Embran. His efforts have become complicated by family friend nightclub manager Poppy Fortune. She has inadvertently fallen into the center of the Embran conflict, but in honor of her family, victims of the supernatural, she refuses to step aside although the man she loves Sykes pleads with her. He has no choice but to keep her safe and pray his deep regard for Poppy does not turn into deadly love. The third Court of Angels is another outstanding paranormal romantic thriller starring a courageous heroine and her champion who fears falling in love with her, but the heart rejects the brain. Fans will root for the heroic duet though Poppy's behavior at times is over the top of Driskoll Mountain. Action-packed from the onset, Out of Sight is another electrifying urban fantasy.
