The beauty of the state captured in these photos is a strong lure to visit

Since I have been to Oregon, I knew the state was beautiful. However, until I looked through this book of photos, I had no idea of the depth of the beauty. The good photographers attract our attention but the great ones leave us in awe. This book did that to me. One of the major reasons is that the state possesses such topographic contrasts. There are arid deserts, snow covered mountains, sand dunes, rugged features carved by volcanoes, fields of grain, major cities, major rivers and waterfalls, ocean beaches, rain forest, and herds of wild horses. A fellow international traveler once told me that the climate on the southern Pacific coast of Oregon was some of the best in the world. After looking through this book, I am convinced. As soon as I can fit it into my schedule, I will be making another, more thorough trip to Oregon. I can also see why so many pioneers were drawn to the Oregon territory so that they could make a better life.
