Optical Illusion Experiments

Optical illusions are one of the most interesting and fun activities that you can engage in. For children, they are fun because they are largely unfamiliar with them and they may be realizing for the first time that your eyes can truly "play tricks" on you. Optical illusions also tell us a great deal about how our eyes and brains combine to gather and interpret information. Things are not always what they appear to be, something that is an important lesson to always keep in mind. This book is a collection of optical illusion activities designed for young people. As such, it is an excellent activity booklet for children in late elementary school. It would also prove very useful for a Cub Scout troop or just something to occupy the children during a winter break when there is no snow outside. The only additional equipment needed is a pencil, marker or crayon and a ruler. Therefore, it is an inexpensive way to teach children some of the basic wonders of the world.
