Sixth-grade teacher Sopie Lawson reaches out to help a troubled child and finds her effort to change a girl's life rewarded beyond her dreams. This description may be from another edition of this product.
Every teacher, K-12, should be given this book for their library...it is that good! Because it is short (less than 100 pages), there is time in the busy teacher's life to read it (I read it over a few days, just a few pages at a time). It is articulate and insightful, and brought many, many tears to my eyes.
One Small Miracle is a great book!

One Small Miracle is a wonderful book about a teacher's love. Mary Bartel is in Sophie Lawson's 6th grade class. As Sophie looks out across her students, she knows that this year with Mary Bartel will not be easy. Mary is a young orphan who lives with her grandmother. She comes to school every day wearing one of her two dresses, with her hair drooping in front of her face, badly in need of washing. Mary's grandmother works long hours at a rest home, and is too tired and busy to care about Mary's life. God places a love for Mary in Sophie's life, and Sophie reaches out to help Mary. Because of this, Mary grows up to be a beautiful and happy young woman. This book is touching and inspirational. It reminds us to help people in need...we could change someone's life.
