One Night with the Wealthy Rancher & Billionaire, M.D.: A 2-In-1 Collection

Brenda Jackson fans, this is yet another great book by Ms. Jackson. One of the Silhouette Desire's series and part of the Texas Cattleman's Club. This was the second book in the "Maverick County Series." I love how Ms. Jackson along with the first author of the book and the others in the six book series tie the storyline and keep it flowing. Not only are the stories about love and romance, but also mystery and intrigue. The authors have a way of writing their part of the story that makes the readers want to know what happens in the end and cannot wait to read the other books. Although this was not about a Westmoreland or Madarius man, those men we have grown to know and love, it was about a fine man -- Darius Foster -- who can definitely hold his own. Keep up the good work, Ms. Jackson and I am looking forward to "Spontaneous" coming soon in the Harlequin Blaze issue.

Seven years ago Darius Franklin and Summer Martindale shared a magical night. However, the harsh reality of the following day would send Darius in one direction and Summer in another. They could never forget that night, yet neither can get beyond the other's betrayal. Present day finds them both living in Somerset, Texas. Summer is now a social worker at a women's shelter and Darius' security company has been hired to install a security system bringing the reluctant duo face-to-face for a long overdue confrontation. As always, Brenda Jackson has delivered another well-written novella. She has the ability to give readers what they want. I really enjoyed this story line. Reviewed by: Toni

This is Book 2 in a series of books by six authors. After reading Book 1 and enjoying it, I couldn't wait to read this one and was not disappointed. Trust and miscommunication destroyed what could have been a great love affair and it took 7 years before the truth was brought to light. The characters made you want them to discover the truth so they could be together again and no one does passion like Brenda Jackson. It was hot and steamy - just the kind of story you could savor. I didn't feel like it was rushed, in fact I suggest you read the books in the series to understand the plot since it is a continuing plot with all 6 books. But still, even standing alone I felt this book delivered a good and passionate love story. I am now reading Book 3 in the series and enjoying that as well. Now I'm anxious to know who's behind the fire.

this book is Definitely a must read the story line was great the love and passion between the lead Characters is worth reading it was good to see them come togther after someone tried to tear them apart.

Summer Martindale is working as a social worker at a women's shelter in her hometown and runs into a man from her past Darrius Franklin who not only saved her from a abusive former financee but the one man she fell in love with completely. The problem was she believed that he only bedded her on a bet or so she was told by his former partner when he worked in law enforcement. She left town and went to college and came back to her hometown to help women that are going through what she went through in her past. He lives there now and has become a wealthy rancher and has become a member of the Texas Cattlemen Club who also raised the funds for the shelter. He had left town when his brother was in a bad accident to tend to his brother and when he came back was told by his former partner who had a low opinion of women that Summer has left town with a wealthy older man because she was a gold digger. Darrius is still attracted to her but fights the feelings because he thinks she is a gold digger. When her ex gets out of jail and threatens her life again, he steps in to protect her like he did 7 years ago. You will have to read the book to find out how this ends and it will be well worth the read. Another great book by Brenda Jackson.
