A Pleasant Light Read

Once Upon a Princess is a beginning of a trilogy. The first book stars Parker and Jace. A princess and the man paid by her father to spy on her. Parker hates being a princess and leaves her country to study in college in the U.S. The problem is she doesn't want to go back. Her father the King wants to know what is going on, so he sends Jace a local agent to spy on her. The more Jace gets to know Parker the more he falls in love with her. Could this relationship work after Parker finds out the truth? A lovely light read. The trilogy is then continued with Once Upon a Prince and then Once Upon a King. They are all great.

A must-read for anyone who dreams of pricesses, prince charming, and escaping her everyday life!!

This is a must-read for anyone who dreams of pricesses, prince charming, and escaping her everyday life!! Parker and Jace both have jobs to do, responsibilities to fulfill. Don't we all? And they seem the least likely duo to pull together to find what they need in each other... sound like a good set up for a story? You bet! Holly Jacobs' sweet, complex relationships never disappoint, because her characters are as real as they are compelling--even the ones who wouldn't be the same if they weren't royalty. Jacobs' humor sparkles as always... And just when you think this one's over too soon, there's the promise of Once Upon a Prince and Once Upon a King! Don't you just love sequels!

Whoever would have thought the big city with the small town heart, Erie, PA, would be home to royalt

Courtesy of CK2S Kwips and Kritiques Whoever would have thought the big city with the small town heart, Erie, PA, would be home to royalty? Parker Dillon is a real, live princess... and hates every minute of it. After all, who wouldn't hate spending their entire life under a microscope? She hates the glamour, the press and the paparazzi as much as she loves her family. She has escaped to the U.S. for a while, has been able to go to college in relative anonymity and has had some semblance of a normal life. Unfortunately her father the king wants her to come home, resume her royal duty, and get married. She has no desire for that, so what's a girl to do? Jason "Jace" O'Donnell is a private investigator, hired by Parker's father to follow her and make sure she is safe until she realizes it is time to go home. He's only doing his job, rather well too, until Parker catches him and figures it out. She had intended to give him grief until he quit, but the tables are turned when spending time with Jace makes her realize she wants more from him... maybe forever. But as much as Jace desires her, he can't get past their differences. Can a princess and a PI overcome the odds and stake out a more permanent job of love? Ms. Jacobs once again proves she has a penchant for weaving a sweet story of romance with engrossing characters. Her books are always full of witty banter and powerful attraction between her main characters. Jace and Parker both show a strong personality and deep emotions. They are perfect for each other, if only they could figure that out. There are several subplots woven in to the book as well, which will make readers hope for more to be revealed in the two coming books in this trilogy. There is the broken marriage of Shelly, Jace's sister, and how that has affected her two children and her brother. Then there is also the side story of Parker's unwanted fiancé, Tanner, and one of her best friends, Shey, and the relationship that shimmers to life between them, promising more adventures for these two. And there is the shy quiet Cara, Parker's other dear friend, who deserves her own story. Readers will also love the fact that we get to visit with some old delightful friends found at Perry Square. If readers want a quick read that is definitely not lacking in story or humor, then Once Upon a Princess by Holly Jacobs is a must-read. Fans will be eagerly awaiting Once Upon a Prince and Once Upon a King, due out in July and September respectively, to visit with Parker and company even more. For it is guaranteed that readers will always meet new friends in a book by Ms. Jacobs. © Kelley A. Hartsell, March 2005. All rights reserved.

fine contemporary romance reminiscent of Roman Holiday

Parker Dillon informs her two best friends Shey Carlson and Cara Phillips that she needs a job so she becomes a waitress at Monarch's, Shey's coffeehouse in Erie, Pennsylvania. That would not be strange for a business degree graduate to work tables, but Parker is not your typical waitress as her full name is Princess Maria Anna Parker Mickovich Dillonetti; all she wants is to be middle class not royalty. She waits on a man with a small girl and boy who is their Uncle Jace O'Donnell, a local private investigator who knows that his server is not an ordinary waitress as he has been hired by her family to keep her safe and to feed them information about her. Now Prince Eduardo Matthew Tanner Ericson of Amar is coming to marry her. Parker blames her mess on Shey who insisted she call home to tell them she is safe. She does not want to marry Tanner; she wants Shey to deal with the prince (in July) as Parker prefers exploring the princess and her private eye. ONCE UPON A PRINCESS is a fun fairy tale reminiscent of Roman Holiday. Parker is a delightful protagonist who wants to live life outside the royal fishbowl while Jace believes she deserves better than a small town sleuth and also feels guilty for spying on her with her family though he rationalizes that it is for her good. Holly Jacobs provides a fine contemporary romance that her retinue will enjoy and look forward to riding a motorcycle with Shey and Tanner in the sequel ONCE UPON A PRINCE. Harriet Klausner
