Budding Romance Tested- Not to Mention a Girl's Camping Skills...
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 18 years ago
Katie attends a summer camp designed to teach wilderness skills to teens and strikes up a friendship with the beautiful and sharp but mysterious Lisa. She develops a crush on Jake, a fellow camper, only to find that Lisa dated him first- and, Lisa insists, the two are still involved. Katie is put in a difficult spot when Jake shows an interest in her as her and Lisa's friendship develops. Of course, this distracts her from the workshops and activities designed to prepare her for the big solo nature hike all the campers take. Katie begins to question Lisa's motives in the matter, but whether or not she decides to challenge Lisa or not is only the beginning of the developments that follow. All the threads of the storyline form an entertaining yarn, and quirky, straightforward Jake is a worthy quarry. Another good thing is that the event at hand (the upcoming nature hike each camper navigates alone near the end of camp), while detailed, does not take over the story, but rather adds to it. Very entertaining.
