Having always thought that Ms Elliot wrote primarily for "christians who live in a quiet world, where a good pot of tea and a good night's sleep would solve all problems", i started out being rather biased towards her works. After all, how could an elderly lady tell me about the difficulties of faith and christianity in this modern day and age? I was wrong, of course. As the title suggests, the book is not just a book with methodology "do this, that, and that, and you'd be alright". Its a collection of essays, of reflections and questions that she had while trusting God. Are the questions just limited to her world? or to put it simply, are these concerns still relevant? Yes they are.. Wherever questions remain unanswered, where there are people who suffer loss, where we find times when its easier to "do the easy thing" than "the right thing", her essays will help the reader gain a Godly perspective. Would recommend it for those who are seeking a more reflective book.
