Wonderful Series!

I have just discovered the High Hurdles series, and I am now a devoted High Hurdles reader! These books are very well written, and offer a fairly realistic portrayal of horse show life. Readers will relate with DJ and her determination to make it to the highest level of glory for jumpers: the Olympics! I was genuinely surprised at how well the author portrays the horse show scene! I have read books like the Saddle Club where shows are perfect, and the top ribbons only go to members of Pine Hollow Stables. High Hurdles is a fantastic series for jumpers, as well as everyday riders. My only issue is all the stuff about God...but apart from that, fabulous!!!

Amazing Series

Since I am a jumper, I stumbled across this series while I was at the library and thought they looked interesting. And as I started reading the first book, I couldn't believe how vivid these were. Sometimes DJ Randall sounds a lot like me. Through her experiences, Snelling is able to go through all the mixed-up feelings of a normal horse-loving teen and sort them out. The girl is deeply religious, and she longs for a horse of her own. Her dream of one day jumping in the Olympics sounds so like mine, that it is impossibe not to like DJ Randall for how close she can be to yourself when you are going through some of the same feelings. Highly reccomended. Since Snelling has proved herself a winner with these books, I wonder where I can find the Golden Fillies series, they sound interseting too...

:)

Great book! I love the way Lauraine Snelling writes! Sometimes it's a bit too much about God this and God that, but else this is super!

Very Realistic

I liked this book. Ms. Snelling knows what kids go through in life. The way DJ is always thinking of stuff in her head but not saying it aloud when she fights with her mom is what happens in life a lot. P.S. Is number 10 in both High Hurdles and Golden Filly the last book in each series? I hope not!

This book is for all who dream of owning a horse.

This book is about how DJ Randall works at the Academy and loves horses. She jumps them and trains them. But most of all...she wants one for herself. Will she get it? Read the book and find out
