To really enjoy this book, you have to have been a fan of the TV show The A-Team, because it is a novelization of the first episode, MEXICAN SLEIGH RIDE. However, if you are familiar with the A-Team, this book will be a joy for you, especially if you like the first episode. The book is much like the show, with some extra and background information, and a few variations on some of the events and statements. The basic plot is that a group of four ex-army men who are on the run for a crime they didn't commit hire out their services for people in need. A reporter hires them to help her find a colleague and friend who has disappeared in a little South American village. The four team members are the real magic of both the book and the show; they are quirky, funny, and lovable, and no matter what they are doing, you can enjoy it as long as their characters come through, as they do in this book. The author does a good job of doing both the show and the characters justice. All the best parts of the guys come through, and there are points in the book that I laughed out loud. Like any novelization of tv or the movies, there are some aspects that are just better caught in the show, and remain elusive in print, but on the whole, this is an enjoyable and lighthearted book that is a pleasure to read.
Old Scores To REview

This is a very good adaptation of two of the better episodes (Recipe For Heavy Bread and Old Scores To Settle)from the first season of The A-Team. There is a very smooth transition from one episode to another, and I was highly impressed with that. It is also a wonderful vehicle for all you Face fans to read about, and it explains a bit of Face's past and makes known a little of why he is as he is. I highly recommend it!

the story (as told by Heath) of the A-Team's first adventure after the Viet Nam war. It is pretty good, and the only A-team novel I know of that isn't based on an episode. If only there were more! One of the best parts- Murdock's post cards(signed, Murdock of Tahiti, wish I was all here).
