Since Boone has written a novel of longer length, it seems this book was intended to be a short read. The characters are appealing and the story is well driven, but suffers from underdevelopment. I read Broughton's first book, Tahoma, and loved it so I had to read this one too. I'm amazed at her ability to tell a story! It was definitely a "weekend escape" for me. Kaitlan and Cynthia are two fascinating characters and I was pulling for them to get together from the first. Then when Dana showed up ... boy, wasn't that a page right from every woman's nightmares. Broughton has shown she can write modern romance as well as she writes historical romance and I can't wait for the next book!
