Good Introductary Book

This is a good book to learn the basic and fundamental concepts behind Object-Oriented System Analysis

Informative and useful, but could be better

This is quite informative text on OOSAD. I did not read it from cover to cover, but as much as I have, it seemed dry at times, and I think it should employ more diagrams and more colors ;) The only three colors you can find in this text are black, white, and blue. That's it. If you're a visual person (like me), you would want some colorful diagrams and screen shots - sort of like used in System analysis and design by Shelly, Cashman, and Rosenblattt. Anyways. Brief content as follows: Part 1: Foundations of object-oriented systems development. -ch 1. The OO system development environment -ch 2. Introduction to object orientation Part 2: Project management and planning -ch 3. Managing the OO information system project -ch 4. Selecting and planning projects Part 3: System Analysis -ch 5. Determining OO system requirements. -ch 6. Structuring system requirements: use-case description and diagrams -ch 7. Conceptual data modeling -ch 8. Object-relational modeling -ch 9. Analysis classes -ch10. Selecting the best alternative design strategy Part 4: System design -ch11. Physical database design -ch12. Design elements -ch13. Designing the human interface Part 5: System implementation and operation -ch14. OOSAD implementation and operation Good things about this book (if you're a student) are for example: -it uses bold font to designate key terms. It is possible to find books out there which use italics, and it is hard to find key terms if you need them. -it lists key terms and page numbers at the end of each chapter. I happened to use "New Perspective" series some time ago (for Excel 07 and Access 07), and they don't have page numbers where to find key terms. That's can be a hassle. -it explains UML diagrams used in OO quite well (to my limited understanding).
