Nuclear Winter Wonderland

If I had walked by this book at Borders, I never would have thoguht to pick it up. Not because it doesn't sound interesting, because it does, but because I'm more of an Alice Hoffman , Beth Gutcheon, Alice Sebold, Brunonia Barry type of girl. I like stories of love, magic, and disaster. Little did I know...that this story contains all three! I bought the book because I attend the college that the author teaches at and just happened to go to the release party that was held at school. He read the first chapter of Nuclear Winter Wonderland to us and I just knew. I knew I had to read it. And I am so glad that I did! It was completely captivating! I loved the entire thing. It was one disaster after another. I would recommend it to anyone. Get out of your comfort zone and read this book! P.S. Joshua Corin is AWESOME. He has the best personalitly in the entire world...(this based on having barely spoken to him at all..but hey whatever.)

This novel by a new writer is a hoot. I spent the weekend enjoying his story and unique imagination, and the icing on the cake was the wonderful prose. This man can write. I recommend this novel to readers of all ages and lovers of all genres. It has something for everyone.

The thing I loved most about this book was that there was never a lull in the action. It was also intelligent. And funny. And suspenseful. Oh my! I fell in love with the characters without realizing it and as soon as I had finished reading I contemplated starting all over again. This book keeps you guessing right up to the last page and has an ending that leaves you wanting so much more, but you're still so satisfied. Corin is definitely an author I want to see more from.

I became attached to the characters and their adventures to the point of not wanting to read the last chapters because I knew it had to end. Corin's story line missed nothing! All age groups will be entertained with the fast moving excitement of this thriller. Josh give us more!

Never have I fallen in love so quickly with a novel as I have with this one. I can safely say that it is in my Top 10. It is by far the wittiest book I have read. Corin has an uncanny ability to blend both reality and comedy into a fast paced thrill ride of a novel that never slows down. As a teacher, this is the kind of work I love to give to my students. Captivating and authentic - one that they talk about before, during, and after class.
