These are very good books..

I started reading these books about 5 months ago. I got the very first book(chasing the Falconers) at a book sale at my school. I though this book would be plain just like any other book, but when I finished the first book I was already reading the second. On the Run is the best series of books I have ever read. I love these books because they are just right for my age and they are so interesting and fun to read! They are also loaded with action! Gordon Korman is a very good Author and I love to read his books. I have just finished the second book and im going to order the third(now you see them now u dont) and the fourth(the stowaway solution). I cant wait to read them and im so excited! I cant wait for u to come out with your sixth book!!

From parent whose child never liked to read! EXCELLENT AUTHOR!

I actually wrote to this author which basically states my review. The author wrote back immediately, I will include his reply as well. Generally speaking, if your child does not like to read it's because of his confidence or ability to read and comprehend. I have never found an author who can boost the interest for my child to read with an action packed, mysterious, funny, suspenseful, and on the edge adventures, combined into one storyline. My son truley cannot put the books down till he is finished and then begs me to go get the next. I don't have to tell him to read, I actually have to ask him to stop so he can do ther things he has to do. Here are the emails - this author should be PUBLICIZED better - he does not get the recoginizition he deserves. Hi Mr. Korman, My son is in 6th grade and has never liked reading. I've bought him every type of book from EVERY author possible,(including joke books etc...) to motivate him for many years and have had no luck. As you know, reading is the most important part of education, therefore he has been struggling in many areas for years. Then I found your books this year and was very impressed myself. I started my son with the "On The Run" series this year and he loves them! Best of all, his skills and grades have increased dramatically!! He has to write a written report on each book he completes in the series. There is one question the teacher expects my son to answer, which is, "what message does the author send? and what have you learned?" My son's answer is "to speak up from the beginning", which I think is to vague and not even really a correct answer. I'm stumped every time we get to this question, especially considering I am an adult, my answer would lead to government corruption/failure to provide due process, etc... basically, not appropriate comments from a child. I know you are very busy but if you could please email me the message you feel you give.. I would greatly appreciate it. I don't know if anyone has ever thanked you for being an author, but I cannot thank you enough for the positive impact you've had on my son's education, and FINALLY, his love for reading!!! REPLY from author: Hi, Jessica. I'm glad your son has taken off as a reader with ON THE RUN. Does he know KIDNAPPED? That's my latest series about Aiden and Meg Falconer.Message is kind of a tough thing to come up with. Generally speaking, it's not a priority for me. I prefer to focus on story and character. But if there's a message to my books about the Falconers, it would have to be something like "never give up when you know you're right." Thanks for getting in touch with me. I'm thrilled your son is a fan. All the best, Gordon Korman

Best series of Young Adult Fiction!

I've read all six and I love them. They are the "edge of your seat" kind of stories. The six books are one long story, though. You can't really read them out of order. It's worth reading all six.

Hooked!

I am a 4th grade teacher who picked up the first book, "On the Run: Chasing the Falconers" at my school's book fair. I used this book as a read aloud and usually put it away for the day at the MOST exciting parts. At that point, the students would shout, "NO! Keep reading!" which is music to a teacher's ears! By the time I picked up the 2nd in the series, "The Fugitive Factor" it was almost summer time. I read the first chapter aloud and encouraged them to check it out for themselves as a summer read. I also informed them that the 3rd (and I thought final) book, "Now You See Them, Now You Don't" would be out in August. The funny thing is that I recently purchased the latest book thinking that since Korman usually writes trilogies, I would read about the final fate of Aidan and Meg. Unfortunately, I raced through and was disappointed but yet intrigued to find out that there are actually three more planned! I recommend this to young readers and teachers as a wonderful contemporary series. This action-adventure book is an amazing story for upper elementary-middle school aged kids. Gordon Korman hooks you like you wouldn't believe. You find yourself holding your breath just about when Aidan and Meg are caught. But they ALWAYS seem to find a way out-those are some quick thinking kids! I plan to use this book again this year in my classroom, and I am sure that my students (me included!) will be itching for the next few months to get the rest of the series.

Now I've Read it...and I can't wait for #4

The only problem with this series is that I started reading them before they were all published! Now I need to wait a few months before I can continue on the exciting journey with Aiden and Meg. The Falconer children are resourceful and on the run. With two groups hunting them -- the police and an assasin, the action never stops. A very good choice for reluctant readers or middle schoolers looking for an adventure story. It's a quick read and will appeal to both boys and girls since the main characters are brother and sister. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
