An easy and enjoyable read, this book is informative for both the novice and expert knitter. Some knitting history is included in the book while the instructional parts are written with a bit of humor.

Yes, this is very much a book you would find on the "gift book" shelves. Very light, lots of zaps of info,silly things and facts. But I thought it was fun. And, I learned some things! It would be PERFECT for a gift basket for a knitter!

This is defintely not your grandmother's knitting book:) I bought this cute book and loved it. While it doesn't have any patterns or stitch instructions (you cannot learn how to knit reading this one); if you are interested in knitting and under 35, this is the book for you. It takes an old hobby and transforms it for a new generation of knitters. It's chock full anecdotes and general information about knitting from younger, hipper perspective. I was not a knitter when I bought this, but it inspired me to become one. So if you think you may be interested in the hobby, this book will give you motivation to defintely try it. Other books that actually do have more instructural information from a cooler perspective are "Stitch and Bitch" and :"Vogue Knitting." I know when I started it was difficult to find anything with patterns that I would actually make or wear, everything was so dated or unstylish. But "Stitch and Bitch" has a pattern for a bikini and "Vogue Knitting" has actual famous designers submitting patterns.
