Must Read for Everyone

If you would like an explanation on the dangerous occult world, seducing your child, this is it! Linda warns on page 41 that the seduction of neo-paganism includes: Focus on self, will, and pride Focus on immediate gratification Preference for sensual pleasure over virtue and idealism Fascination with the mysterious and dangerous A bias against Christianity The author teaches on page 55 of God's dire warning against America's 21st Century spiritual smorgasbord, "sold" to the undiscerning as innocuous and fun. As the occult marches on unashamedly throughout schools and society, the author explains that God forbids certain practices in the Bible for our protection: false faith, witchcraft, sorcery, divination (fortune telling), consulting mediums, calling on the dead, and worshiping or praying to false gods. The author also cites passages from God's holy Word to contrast the ease with which people are embracing the occult: Deut. 18:10-12; Exodus 22:18; Leviticus 19:26, 31; 20:6; 1 Samuel 15:23; 2 Kings 21, Acts 16:16-18; 19:11-20; 1 Corinthians 10:19-21; Galatians 5:19; 1 Timothy 4:1; Revelation 9:20-21; 21:8,and 22:15. The only sentence I would reword in the whole, entire book is found on page 64. However, the point the author is making could not be better. On page 63-64 Linda writes: "Prophets of God to foretell the future, but the visions, dreams, and messages are always initiated by God and not the prophet. An authentic contact from God will never communicate anything that violates what He has already communicated in His Word (Scripture) and His commandments. There is no need to conduct any ritual as such to get God's attention. It's a good bet that many of God's chosen prophets often wished God would leave them alone, for the path of following Him and delivering His messages was usually a solitary and difficult one." I don't wish God would leave me alone, but I understand! I am still giving this book a `10' on a scale of 1 to 10, because I agree with the point the author is making in this section. Being pruned by the Lord is hard, and He prunes someone He loves (John 15:2). As this book astutely describes, following Jesus is vastly different from following self and demonic, immoral, egotistical spirits. The God of the Bible does not exist for people; people exist for Him. The road of the cross involves suffering as we obey and die to self, but it is far more joyous walking in paths of righteousness for His name's sake, no matter the cost, than suffering in the bondage of sin and high price of rebellion. When I was in school a child was "gifted" if he or she could learn well or had a high IQ. Now "gifted" often means demonic possession in children. This book will serve as a great encouragement to Christian parents as it sounds a loud siren to awaken committed fathers and mothers to make a stand with a cry of conviction, "Not My Child!" against the subtle darts of postmodern Satanism aimed at their children. It will also warn of the demoni

The "New Spirituality" is here and it isn't pretty...

"Not My Child" pulls back the curtain on the paganistic, new spirituality that is engulfing the youth culture at a rapid rate these days. This book is a valuable resource for Christian parents who want to educate themselves in regard to these deceptive, occultic influences in our society and even in some of our churches. It takes quite a bit of courage and determination to write a book dealing with this subject matter, and authors like Linda Harvey should be supported and commended by the greater Christian community as this book is in keeping with the exhortation in Ephesians 5:11: "And do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them." If you care about guarding your children's spiritual and physical well-being, read this book and speak out to expose the works of darkness and uphold Biblical truth. As Christian parents, we owe it to our children and the upcoming generation.

To any parents who may be concerned about strange religious practices of their teen.

Everyday teens are bombarded with casual occultism - it may not seem as such, but it's everywhere in today's society claims "Not My Child: Contemporary Paganism & the New Spirituality". It is an examination of how, why, and where paganism is connecting with today's youth, its appeal to them, and to some what may be described as evil is infesting the day to day lives of today's teens. Attacking pop spirituality, outlining the pitfalls of a pagan lifestyle and more, "Not My Child: Contemporary Paganism & The New Spirituality" is recommended to any parents who may be concerned about strange religious practices of their teen.

Ignorance is NOT bliss

Attention, critical thinkers and anyone else courageous enough for a cultural 'reality check': "Not My Child" is, hands down, the most articulate and well-researched book on the fallout of modern paganism available today. With heartfelt passion, Linda Harvey exposes the darkness that lurks in the halls of far too many homes, schools, churches and hearts. We live in a world where tolerance and ignorance are nearly indiscernible and Linda has cleverly, but clearly, put words to the disastrous consequences of trying to live by the impossible 'standards' of moral relativism. As an avid reader and the mother of two young children, I am eternally grateful to Linda for the massive amount of time and energy that I know she put into producing this indispensable resource for the rest of us. Thank you Linda, for boldly proclaiming that which has gone unsaid for too long. But more important, for still managing to impart hope into what would be hopeless...if not for a Sovereign, loving and merciful God. and while it may seem "easier" to look the other way or blatantly ignore the banality of the

Parents: Act on this information now before it's too late.

This very easy to read book reminded me that lots of parents already know, down deep, that they should be paying more attention to the insidious tsunami of occult, witchcraft, sorcery and paganism-driven temptations flooding children's minds. Yet parents don't act for fear of risking overkill, or of losing another discipline battle. Instead, they cross their fingers hoping "it's just a passing fad they'll grow out of." Far from harmless, this nationwide infestation is soul and life-destroying. It comes not just from movies, TV, radio, books, hand-helds, computer games, etc., but also from inside what should be the safe harbor of the church. But, the good news is that Not My Child deftly exposes the new paganism while giving parents the resolve and the tools to act decisively. The bad news is that this entrenched, demonic invasion from spiritual hell has progressed with such intensity that some parents may find they've already waited too long. Chapter 4 alone will stun even the dreamiest optimist. Although written by a dedicated Christian, this diagnosis and repair manual ought to have automatic broad appeal. After all, why wouldn't even an atheist left-liberal find ready agreement with a religious-right fundamentalist in an emergency of this seriousness? No parent of any political or religious persuasion wants to wake up one day to find a child overcome by hyperactivity, panic attacks, an eating disorder, suicidal tendencies, depression, the need to self-mutilate, substance abuse, a gender identity crisis, tendencies to violent crime, bizarre piercings, early sexual experimentation, pregnancies, abortions, rage against authority and more. The author takes pains to demonstrate the connections between these disease symptoms and corresponding, addictive youth incursions into the occult whether promoted directly or smuggled in by side-door cultural osmosis. Linda Harvey's awareness of Bible warnings and her shock-insuring exposé gives parents the symptom recognition, treatment tools and inspiration they need to confront the problem before it's too late. Consider this book a high tech "nonsense detector" for both you and your child. Study it and save your child a future of torment and dysfunction. I'm buying a dozen copies to pass out.
