No Words Alone

This was an amusing Sci-Fi Romance. The female lead could be stronger but the male lead (WOW!) and the other characters more than made up for it. I am looking forward to the rest of the series. I am going out today to buy book 2 'When Sparks Fly'. As soon as she comes out with books 3 & 4, they will be on my must have list, I will go out and purchase them as well. I also bought all the other books written by this author as well. She has a wonderful sense of humor. They all were truly delightful.

LIKE

I liked this book. It was very fun and I liked the sci/fi romance it was unique and i liked characters a lot. It was like a star trek romance. i noticed that i keep using the word like, but thats okay because I REALLY LIKED IT.

Alpha aliens + spunky heroine = fab futuristic

I've been really looking forward to reading this romance since I love futuristic romance. Autumn Dawn has also written futuristic romances under New Concepts Publishing and I really enjoyed them but was curious to see how her writing would be with a new publisher. Well, her latest book is even better! Xera is a translator on the Galactic Explores a huge conglomerate devoted to taking over land and resources for profit. She has become disillusioned with her position and most of her crew. Unfortunately, life has become difficult because she is the only female in her crew and her assertiveness isn't appreciated by the controlling captain. Plus being the only woman finds her constantly fending away `proposals.' When their ship crashes after fighting with the aliens called the Scorpio, they are all stranded on a frightening planet filled with danger. To survive, the Scorpio and Xera's crew must work together. However, tensions between her suspicious captain become strained because the captain feels she is pursuing her own agenda with the enemy camp and threatens her. Surprisingly the Scorpio men save her and Xera finds their race noble but confusing. She is quickly separate from her crew and made the spoils of war where she is constantly confronted by the alpha warrior Commander Ryven. The interactions between the 2 characters is well worth the book as he pursues her and she gives him a run for his money! What I loved about Xera is that is tough and intelligent, and willing to stand up for what she believes in. This book was extremely enjoyable. I hope Autumn Dawn writes another book concerning the Scorpio since I found the culture very interesting and would gladly revisit it and their fascinating men! A fantastic book to curl up with.

Good, But.........

I wasn't sure if I should give this a 3 star or a 4 star rating. I've read everything that Autumn Dawn has published in ebook and this book is not nearly as good as those. I love sci-fi romance and this just didn't have the characterization that her ebooks have. I just couldn't relate to her characters. It started out great, but then just got ho-hum. It was a good book, but I felt something was missing. I will continue to purchase anything that Autumn Dawn writes because she is a good writer. I just wish this book had been up to her ebook standards. If you want to really read some good books by Autumn Dawn, read her Dark Lands Series, or her sci-fi Ride the Stars and Once Bitten!!

exciting science fiction romance

Working as a translator for the Galactic Explorers has not been fun in what should have been an uplifting experience for Lieutenant Xera Harris-d. Her captain is a boorish self-conceited macho idiot and the company he represents cares only about the bottom line. Thus she is not shocked when her vessel and that of the Scorpio race get entangled in hostilities with both crash-landing on a nearby hostile planet. Shockingly Scorpio, Commander Ryven warns the enemy crew of the dangers and offers to escort them to safety. As the sole woman amidst testosterone-thinking thugs on both sides, Xera expects to be a victim. She especially believes her side starting with her captain is the group to fear the most from so she stays close to the Scorpio hunk as he is probably the only safe situation. When another Scorpio ship rescues everyone, Xera knows she is a POW, but her heart captured by Ryven frightens her the most. NO WORDS ALONE is an exciting science fiction romance driven by the strong cast on both sides of the conflict. The Galactic Explorer's crew led by the captain is cutthroat coming across as pirates in space while the Scorpio are more disciplined as a professional military unit. The Romeo and Juliet love story in outer space is well written as the audience sees the first hand cultural divides and taboos inside of the superb Autumn Dawning of a new "universe".
