No Time To Cry

No Time To Cry is a wonderful book. It is about a girl named Dawn Rochelle. Dawn is almost 16 and is a sophomore in high school. She attends Hardy High with her best friend Rhonda. Dawn had cancer, leukemia, and she is now trying to leave that behind her and go on with a normal life like an ordinary high school student. As Dawn tries to leave the past behind, she constantly is reminded of her past:chemotherapy,a bone marrow transplant, and the death of her best friend Sandy. Her time at Hardy High is very intresting. Her fifth grade crush,Jake, comes back and she starts to like him again yet she likes Sandy's brother Brent which she met at summer camp. Brent is in college so she doesn't really think that he likes her but he does. Katie,Rob's girlfriend, thinks that Dawn should attend the monthly meetings at the hospital for cancer survivors but Dawn doesn't want to because she just wants to forget about cancer. Dawn is mixed up with all the emotions and doesn't know quit how to handle them. She takes it out on others when they just want to help but to her they are just bringing back memories. This is one of the best books I have ever read. I think that everybody can relate to this book simply because everybody has bad memories or things they just want to forget about. Some may have had cancer or have a family member or close friend that has had cancer and may somehow be able to relate to the things that Dawn is going through. I encourage all girls to read this book. I enjoy all the Dawn Rochelle novels and I think that most girls will too.

Anything by Lurlene Mcdaniel is great

I love reading her books, she's a great author. She really understands how cancer people think and feel. And I should know, comsidering I am a cancer survivor. Dawn Rochelle is like me in a way, I also had a BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant). (insert from book) >> But no matter how long she stays in remission, Dawn fears that her battle with cancer will always be with her.<< This is very true. I have been in remission for 4 year, but I still remember almost everything and I will always wonder if my Leukemia will come back. Anyway, this is a GREAT book!!

This book lets others know how cancer victoms feel.

For a long time, I never knew much about cancer. Well, I guess I knew what it was, but not until after reading this book was I really sure how it felt. Dawn was a very courageous young girl. I doubt I would be able to deal with all she had to if I had cancer. I have not read the other books about Dawn, but I think I will now. A firend recommended that I read this. I felt every ounce of pain Dawn felt throughout the entire book. I like books that are so moving that you could not put them down. That is how this one was for me. Each night while I lay in bed after reading a chapter in the book, I wondered what was next for Dawn in her battle with cancer. If Dawn were here, I would tell that she is certainly the most bravest person I know. I am glad that I now know how cancer victoms feel because many of us don't understand half of what they have to go through. I think everyone should read this book!

Dawn's friend's battle for a transplant.

Dawn is diagnosised with cancer. When she gets transplant she finds out that the organs given to her were those of her boyfriend's brother, Aaron, who died in a car accsident. It's really hard for Dawn when she goes back to school because she feels out of place. Then when her friend she met at the Jenny house and went to cancer camp with gets beeped to be prepaired for a transplant, comes to live with her, Dawn feels greatly relieved. Then they meet Jillian, a girl who needs a heart and two lungs. Then a doner for a transplant comes. The doctors had to decide if Jillian should get the heart and the lungs or Chelsea(Dawns friend who came to live with her) should get the heart.

Tear Jerker

I read I Want to Live and Six Months to Live and loved them both. That's why I got No Time to Cry. Dawn is finally in remission, and for the first time in a long time she mgiht be able to live a normal life. The only thing holding her back is her fear of a relapse. I read it a long time ago, but I still remembering how grabbing the book was. I like the way that Lurlene McDanial showed Dawn's by Dawn's resistance to go to the group for cancer suvivors. The book was, in my opinion, wonderful
