No Leavin' Love

Beautiful, successful Mercedes Miller is headed home for her father's wedding, to the Colorado ranch she couldn't wait to get away from, and the far-too-sexy woman she left behind long ago.

Ranch foreman Sydney Campbell isn't expecting anything from the arrogant fireball she once found irresistible, least of all a tame heart inside the beautiful body. She's not surprised when Mercedes thinks she can use her again.

Two can play that...

HOT

Larkin Rose is fast becoming one of my favorite authors. I like a good romance and the sex scenes in her books is HOT! I thought that this was a cute story. I loved the banter between Mercedes and Syd. Made the story even hotter. I have read all of Larkin Rose's books and will continue to read whatever else she writes. Worth reading.

Who Says You Can't Go Home Again?

With this relatively short, matinee-style romance, Larkin Rose shows in this second book that she truly has the skills to be successful in this genre. Here, she introduces a pair of gals who have a difficult past with each other. Of course, many things are difficult for people who choose not to communicate - the root cause of the problems here. First, there is Mercedes Miller. Mercedes is determined to leave the country life and find success in the city. She leaves for college and establishes her career far from home, returning for the first time when her widowed father is to be married. In coming home, Mercedes has two demons to face. First, she is determined to prevent this marriage to a woman she has never met but is certain is no good for her father. The second is Sidney Campbell, the woman who tenderly helped Mercedes explore her budding sexuality as a teen. When leaving for college, Mercedes left Sydney a note, but Sydney never attempted to contact her. This is the first, fundamentally flawed, lack of communication. The note fell into the wrong hands. Sydney never saw it and thought Mercedes just left without looking back. Sydney had her own reasons for not trusting. Her father died and left his ranch to her loser brother. Sydney was left with essentially nothing, and got a job as a ranch hand on Mercedes' father's ranch. He grew to love her like a daughter and treats her very well. The ranch hand isn't sure how to respond to Mercedes upon her return, but shows much more maturity than her former lover. There is a colorful supporting cast. Mercedes' sister and father, his fiancée, her sister's boyfriend - all play necessary roles and keep the story moving along. Even so, Mercedes and Sydney are written well enough to stand alone. Bottom Line - Rose has proven staying power with a second, high quality book. I look forward to reading more from this talented author.
