Completing the journey started...

No Eye Can See is Jane Kirkpatrick’s second book in this series. The story continues with how these woman traveled to California in wagons with their men left behind in graves they dug due to illness. These woman were tough. They did not give up and stuck together as family to make this journey together. Through hard times and good, they made their way to a new start in life in a town called Shasta. What a journey this was. I look forward to reading the last of this series, What Once We Loved.

No Eye Can See

It has been years since I have found a book this enjoyable to read. I am so glad this book is one in a series. There is a lot wisdom in the characters dialog. I am a new fan of Jane Kirkpatrick's. -

Wonderful series.

I just finished the third book in this series,"What Once We Loved" this is one the best series I've read in a long time, very enjoyable and the characters are so lovable and real to life. Thank you Jane.

Another historical winner

Jane Kirkpatrick's sequel serves up another wholesome read. We follow the women into Shasta City where their journey ends and the attempt to make a living and a home for themselves becomes their newest priority. Each woman must face their own issues and cope with their personal frailties. In the face of the gold rush, everything becomes more complicated and expensive. Should they ban together as before, or should they say goodbye and get on with their lives independently? This is another rich story guaranteed to prolong reader's fascination for this time period.

A Book You Can't Put Down

Jane's new book "No Eye Can See" is a continuation of the lives of the women you met in "All Together in One Place". We get to share the hardships and joys of these women during their journey to the West. They suffered great losses and yet gained friendships to last forever. The character Ruth is indeed intriguing. "All Together in One Place" hinted about her past, but now we finally get to learn what she is all about. The story unfolds and keeps you on the edge and wanting to read more. I could not put it down and found I did not want the book to end. There are some wonderful surprises in the story, and you just know that there is more to happen! The good news is that there is another book in this series. I shall be waiting when it comes out!

No Eye Can See

"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." 1 Corinthians 2:9 (NIV)Jane Kirkpatrick has once again filled her readers up with stories of kinship and desertion, success and failure, love and loss...in her newly released book, "No Eye Can See".This is book two of three in the kinship and courage series by Kirkpatrick that documents the lives of several women left alone through death and desertion as they make their way west in the 1850s. The characters that were introduced in "All Together in One Place", the first book in the series, become part of your life again. Each possessing their own strengths and weaknesses, it is easy for the reader to identify with the journeys of these women; and place those same elements into lives today.Kirkpatrick's masterful storytelling is second only to her massive research which goes into the creating of the story. One need only read her acknowledgements at the end of the book to realize this is not an "off the top of your head book", but rather a retelling of life as it really existed in the times of gold rushes and speculations.Somewhere mixed in between the stories of these women, you come to realize that we are all "blinded"--sightless to the visions of life and the choices we make. As Suzanne Cullver, the blinded, widowed pioneer woman with two children comes to realize, physical sight is far less important than internal sight. If we are to become the "pioneers" of internal sight we need books like "No Eye Can See" to help us realize our journey and the path we take to live life to the fullest. The characters in this book are as real as the author herself. The pain explained is at a level that we all can connect with, and the growth is the one thing each and every reader will aspire to. "No Eye Can See" is a book for all of us who want to shed our "blindness" and accept each and every "sight" in our life that can help build our individual spirit.
