In his fourth book for children, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer focuses on the topic of excuses and how they can do more harm than we realize. The book demonstrates how excuses go far beyond "my dog ate my... This description may be from another edition of this product.
I purchased this book to share with my grandson. Of course we all know that little ones need guidance and everyone benefits from Wayne Dyer's words. After reading and discussing this book we were in his backyard running around their pool. I said I am too old to run any more when he exclaimed "Grammy, no excuses, you can do it!" So, who learned from the book and applied their learning?

Wonderful, Heartwarming, Powerful Lesson for My Kids and Yours!

I loved this for my kids; it is for 4 -8 year olds. It explains that excuses are made by our own decision and limit what we achieve when we can really achieve what we set our minds to. It teaches, through a story of a child who has a passion for sea turtles and a marine biology career, that even when we are told by others we look up to (teachers, grandpa, parents...) that what we want is "wrong" or "too hard" or whatever, we are the only ones who decide what we can do or not. And, even better, it points out what us parents do know, which is that people all around us say this or that but really, when a person (our child...) does what they love and follow their dreams, others that care for them come around to see their point and their abilities that they were not seeing before. This book is so great to share these ideas with my children and I am hopeful that it will be a game changer, one of the things that helps my kids to really understand that they are not limited and they can have and do what they desire. Simply wonderful. And not a long book. It has a method, based on Dr. Dyers adult book "Excuses be Gone", where the kids can learn to question their excuses too, to reduce their power over them, and help them to get beyond excuses. Also, as a parent, you have got to read Effortless Wellbeing: The Missing Ingredients for Authentic Wellness. I have been seeing people carrying this book and recommending it, and there is a great reason. It is absolutely amazing and will transform your life in general and as a parent. I can't tell you how powerful this book has been in my life.

Simple for a child to understand, this book let's a child know that his dreams and visions are possible to achieve. Good for adults as well.
A Good, Positive Book

I read this with my son and we both enjoyed it. This book tells a story about a boy who wants to become a marine biologist. When he tells people in his life what he wants to do they tell him discouraging things until he looses that spark and gives up on his dream. The book shows how he worked though the EXCUSES and followed his dream. Maybe it's my simple mind but I sometimes feel I get just as much out of these children's book as I do the longer verson for adults.
