This is a wonderful book that can open children's eyes to the appeal of non-fiction writing. As the title implies, it consists of nine true dolphin stories, each of which documents an actual dolphin that had some sort of interesting interaction with humans (or with other dolphins while under human observation). One of the most interesting stories to me (and one of the shortest) was about Bimbo, a pilot whale that began acting aggressively towards the dolphins in an aquarium. Worried for the safety of the dolphins, especially the baby dolphins, the director drained out some of the water, so that Bimbo was effectively stranded. When Bimbo began making distress calls, the smaller dolphins came to him and comforted him in this hour of need. When the water level was restored, Bimbo had been cured of his bullying ways, and treated the dolphins with kindness. What a great story! Whichever story grabs your fancy the most, you will be introduced in a very engaging way to one of the most interesting species on the planet. Children will be motivated to learn more about dolphins, and possibly about the natural world in general.
The review of the book "Nine True Dolphin Stories"

Nine True Dolphins Stories, written by Margaret Davidson and illustrated by Pamela Johnson, is just what the title suggests, nine true stories about dolphins. I liked this book a lot and thought this it was a very good children's book. The stories, though only two pages each, are interesting and enjoyable. True stories about 10 real dolphins, simple words, and big text make this book an excellent learning experience for children. Pictures throughout this book make reading it fun and easy.
