What a wonderful story! It combines family values, traditions and multigenerational love. Our children love to hear the grand dad sing on the free tape that comes with the book and we all enjoy the story. Even the illustrations are exciting. It's easy to imagine just such a story taking place in any family. Thank you Mr. Smith for bringing 'values' back to children's books!

I really REALLY like this book. Mostly because it's about my brother Ricky and I and because it's a story that my great grandmother used to tell. And because the pictures remind me of when I was small. Now we read the book to my youngest brother all the time and he loves it!. It's great.
