I thought this was going to be a banger for me because I love the idea of women being werewolves and how changes to the female body align with the transformation of werewolf but honestly I thought Such Sharp Teeth was more successful at drawing the parallels between motherhood and turning into a werewolf. Also the death cat scene and cat slander, I just don't understand why it was necessary. Why do you even have a cat you hate? We’re a cat family in this household so sorry but I really can’t let any of that go. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Loved the ideas, hated the cat hate.

What a mesmerizing and evocative book. I am a full time mom and I needed this book 5 years ago when my son was younger. There are some horror elements but it is not scary. I don't recommend it to those averse to violence. I will keep this book forever. I will purchase copies and pass it out to all my mom friends.

I couldn't really get into it or relate but I do recommend to my wild lady friends. Quick read.

So disappointing, it starts off real strong but the last half of the book feels like it's just running in place, nothing happens! And it just... ends? That is not a real resolution if your story is about the struggle of motherhood and being a woman it can't just end on "and then she suddenly had the time, energy, resources, and the audience to do what she wanted and it turns out she wasn't actually turning into a dog :)))".
