Nick Tanner's late wife Laura had been a dare-devil and she liked extreme sports, Laura had no problem taking their small daughter Katie with her on some of these stunts, until the last one; speeding on a motorcycle that killed her and put Katie in the hospital with her life hanging on a tread. Nick vowed he would take better care of Katie in the future, so he moved to Berkshire, Massachusetts to give Katie a better environment than Boston could offer. Nick's business partner has a daughter Grace, she is the perfect woman for Nick, she is everything Laura wasn't. But then Nick met Chelsea Lawton, she runs a business using hot air balloons, and though he is attracted to Chelsea he pegs her has being in the same class as Laura. But Nick finds himself thinking more and more about Chelsea, and accidentally or purposely bumping into her. Katie loves Chelsea and she hates Grace. Grace treats Katie like a injured baby, and Katie rebels again and again. Nick even blames Chelsea for Katie's behavior. Nick blows hot and cold until Chelsea finally throws up her business, and moves to Adirondacks, New York, so she can take over as the head balloonist. Chelsea was struggling to squeak out a living in Berkshire, now she is to get paid a large amount without the worries or overhead of running a business herself. It's not until after Chelsea leaves that Nick sees the light. From the back of the book: 'The right signals-the wrong woman. Chelsea Lawton had never met a man who "rattled her teeth" with a glance. Not until Nick Tanner. Nick and his adorable young daughter, Katie, were the stuff of fantasies-thrilling fantasies of love and marriage-to Chelsea anyway. Not that he wasn't attracted to her. But he'd obviously formed an image of the perfect wife, and his business partner's daughter Grace, for some reason fit the bill. So why was Nick sending Chelsea all the wrong signal, if she was the wrong woman?'
Enjoyable Book.
