Read it even if you don't want to "Lap quilt"

This book has very little actual information on how to lap quilt, only a brief explanation in the appendix. What it does have are many quilt patterns in different styles, from traditional patchwork to picture quilts made with strips of fabric, in a variety of skill levels. It will give you a lot to dream about.

I am just starting to quilt and this book has lots of information besides lap quilting. In addition to the templates, there is valuable information about yardage and how to bind quilts. It shows how to add ruffles and how to do saw-toothed and scalloped edges. I especially liked the information on how to make continuous binding rather than buying ready made.
Lots of potential here for motivation!

I haven't tried any of the projects yet, but there's a lot of variety here! Album quilts, bargello birds, pieceing, patchwork, classic and modern ideas, simple and complicated. Something for almost everyone!
