Milanese lace designs are easy-flowing curves and elegant scrolls in floral and leaf forms. The lace is made in sections called free or part lace, and these are then put together by means of sewings. The advantage of this method is that relatively few bobbins are used on the pillow, usually between 12 and 20 pairs. This practical book contains both traditional and modern work on the art of Milanese lacemaking.
