A simply wonderful book !

Each story took me from one emotion to another. One minute I found myself bursting out loud with laugher and a few pages later I was on the edge of my seat gripped with anticipation. This book is from the heart and I loved it. What a refreshing experience !

Attention English Teachers!

Here's a book that will inspire your kids to set down their own ideas and feelings. Mr. Lazzarini still expresses their kind of innocence and idealism, even though he's a real grownup. In this collection he covers a broad range of emotions, from the deep horror of being in the very, whirling, center of combat in Vietnam, to the anguish of separation from one you love, to wistful longing for things lost, to an insanely comic flight of fantasy involving a set of magnets and a tie. His direct, unpretentious writing left me with pictures so vivid that I can see each scene in all its detail just by recalling the subject. It reminds me of Dashiell Hammett's ability to photograph the action in words. This book is too short. Send us more, Tony.

A wonderful book filled with lifes humor and ironies.

The authors experiences, observations, and hearty zest for life, are reflected in this collection of humorous, thought prevoking short stories. Profound whimsy at its best. A treasure to be read again and again.

Clever and entertaining, easy to read

I liked the each of the short stories and they were slices of life and they reminded me of my own past. The light humor mixed with the author's personal affection for each story and its charactors was exactly the kind of entertainment and relief from my highly stressful job and constant deluge of responsibilities. For a moment, while I read those stories, I harkened back to a simpler time of life. We all need to remember those times. I highly recommend this book!
