Horse owners--you need this book!

I originally bought this book because I was interested in the research he had done on wild horse society, but it has been enormously helpful to me in a practical sense. In seeing what ideal, wild horse feet look like, it gave me an idea of how to handle my horse's hoof care. He has foundered many times, once with 11 degrees rotation. Despite years of pros working on his feet using heartbars and other types of shoes, his white line remained stretched out to 3/4" wide at the toe, meaning we were making no progress. Once I pulled the shoes and began to do my own trimming, frequently, attempting to get a wild horse foot shape, more progress was made in 6 months than in several years. Jaime's ideas have been such a service to my poor old horse! For some images of my horse's progress: Everything in the book is based on extensive personal experience and research. One of the most useful horse books I've come across in a long time.

At last, a truley literary discussion on the Wild Horse

Jamie Jackson has put together a sensible discussion on thewild horse that is invaluable to any one that works with the horse. The lessons he relates are very accurate and as a trainer of both wild and domestic horses I have found I am using this work as a bible of sorts in reviewing their behavoir. Behavior being the key to understanding the horse and subsequently bonding with it. Especially valuable is the excellent coverage on the Hoof, the most important part of the horse, as well as the wonderfull illustrations he has tactfully included. This work is a technical treatise, anyone will easily understand, that covers the full spectrum of being involved with the horse. Hope to see more of Jamie Jacksons work.
