I taught this book for many years to college poetry and poetry-writing classes. Must have loaned out my last copy, and I am desperate to find another.

This is a marvelous book. One of the finest compliations of the (do they have a name?) - the poets who came after elliot, biship, and pound, i.e merwin, bly, snyder . . . The thing that makes this book most valuable are the essay's contributed by the poets themselves on the topic of free verse. I love it.
