My Nerdy Valentine

Amanda Rykowsky dreams of being a psychologist, and she is willing to make many sacrifices to achieve her dream. She goes to school, works as a bartender and interns for a sex therapist. With a schedule like that, Amanda doesn't have time for romance. Much less a secret Valentine. So when she receives the anonymous Valentine's cards, Amanda confronts the man she assumes is responsible. Stockbroker William Sloan assures Amanda that he is not sending her anonymous cards. In fact, Will is afraid that the secret admirer is dangerous and wants to protect Amanda. Will insists on pretending to be Amanda's boyfriend to scare off the the secret admirer. While Will's intentions are honorable, he is filled with desire for Amanda. Protecting Amanda from a dangerous admirer is Will's goal. On top of that, Will has to keep from distracting Amanda from her studies. Even when he badly wants to kiss Amanda senseless. My Nerdy Valentine is my favorite nerd book so far! I laughed. I wiggled. I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Will is the hottest nerd yet! Earflaps and all. Fans of the nerd series will love My Nerdy Valentine. If you haven't read any of Vicki Lewis Thompson's nerd books, I recommend My Nerdy Valentine as a great place to start. Annmarie reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

totally loved it!

I started reading this author with her Talk Nerdy to Me, and loved it so much I immediately went out and bought more of her books. This was the second one I read, and I was pleased to discover it was just as funny as the earlier one! This one had me laughing on almost every single page! From the opening paragraph - where the heroine is caught carrying sex toys up the stairs, because the bag rips and the toys spill all over the stairs, through many other funny situations, this is a great read.

Valentine's Day Nightmere

Amanda Rykowsky thinks that she does not have time for a romance. She is a student, has a demanding internship with a sex therapist, and work at a bar. Then one day she meets William who works in the same building as the sex therapist. The two are thrown together when Amanda starts getting Valentine Day Cards. Unfortunatelyshe does not know who it is and at first thinks that it is William. The Valentine Day Cards are just the first step in a creapy plot. Added to the mix is the sex therapist who has a thing for William as well as Williams best friend. This is a very interesting book.

Great Characters and light read !!!!

My Nerdy Valentine is very unique book. The main character Amanda works as intern at non-traditional sex therapist office. She starts receiving valentines and thinks it might be Will a man who works in the office building and guy who she dropped all the sex toys in front of the first day they met. It's not Will who is sending the creepy Valentines but a crazy man who wants to kidnap her. Will decides to protect Amanda, which leads to romance. Through out the whole book I wanted to yell - call the cops a crazy man is after you - Will the stockbroker cannot protect you. Over all the book had humor, great romance and twist of mayhem.

A funny romantic comedy with an excellent cast of characters

Amanda Rykowsky is coming back to the office after running an errand for her boss, when she runs into the man who will complicate her well-ordered life. The problem, besides the fact that she'd committed herself to not dating so that she can focus on school and work, is that the errand entailed running to the local porn store for her boss and picking up all various sex toys and other paraphernalia. It's just her luck that it happens to be a rainy day and the paper bag she requested to conceal its contents, succumbs to the weather and deposits all of her materials on the ground in front of her building. It's also just her luck that the slightly-nerdy, very sexy stockbroker who works in her building happens to see it all happen... Proving that chivalry is not dead, William Sloan valiantly helps Amanda collect her sex toys and take them back to the office. Though he's interested in her and asks her out, Amanda lets him know that her life is too complicated for dating right now. Besides working as an intern and being a full-time student, she also moonlights as a bartender six nights a week for extra cash. With her goal of graduating at the top of her class and attending Harvard for graduate school, there's simply no time for men in her life. Well, that and the fact that her oversexed boss catches a glimpse of Will and decides she wants him for herself. When Amanda begins receiving mysterious valentines in the office, she assumes that Will just can't take a hint. However, as the notes become more disturbing she realizes that Will wouldn't send her something so offensive. Rushing in to save the day, Will decides to pretend to be her boyfriend just so that they can scare her creepy admirer away. He knows Amanda wants nothing to do with him, and is respectful of her wishes... only the more time the two spend together, the more he finds himself falling for her. And the more time Amanda spends in Will's presence, the less she thinks about studying sex therapy and the more she thinks about engaging in some one-on-one sex therapy with Will... The hits just keep on coming in Vicki Lewis Thompson's highly successful Nerds Series, and My Nerdy Valentine is no exception. Thompson makes it pretty clear that you can be an intelligent man who wears glasses while still being sexually attractive specimen who women will swoon for. With the character of Will, she has given readers the best of both worlds: a man with a talent for numbers and information gathering who is also willing to support his woman and her endeavors and who once again proves that chivalry is not dead. Of the same token, Amanda is a good example for women that it's okay to be goal-oriented and know what you want from life just so long as you don't start to sacrifice your future happiness to accomplish them. Combined with supporting characters like Justin, Will's brokenhearted best friend who tries to use drinking and sex to forget his problems, Mavis and Chester, Amanda's nosy geriatric neighbors
