This book makes you laugh, cry, sob and shudder. For those who know and understand S & M and the life of BDSM its very realistic. Those that don't won't understand anyway. Grant did a fantastic job writing this book.

This is an amazing book, and so much more than a piece of s/m erotica. There's a deep story here, that reads very much as a true personal experience. Despite this, the erotic descriptions are amongst some of the most explicit and stirring I've read. Well done!

This is basically a good, escapist love story. The author succeeded in making me care deeply about the characters. But their relationship is framed by S & M, and thus intensified. When real violence enters the story, it sets in relief the consensual "violence" of S & M. The book deepened my understanding of the life style, and made me appreciate all over again my own relationship to my significant other. I agree, in a class with Story of O, even though the writing has some rough spots.

This book is one of two erotic books that changed my sexual perspectives. The first was Story of O. This one, because Grant Antrews brought warmth, caring, love, and concern to a highly charged and erotic relationship between a man and a dominatrix. It is a "love story" of profound impact and I related to its devotionalist theme.

Not your average "erotic" book. This is a big, daring, outrageous but respectful novel, very plausible, and you'll come to care very much for the characters. Many syrupy or romantic scenes, but that's not all bad. Kinky, colorful, almost too cruel at times. I think the point is the contrast between the very regimented, carefully controlled "violence" of S & M as compared to the violence in our society. And when an erotic novel makes you think, it's extraordinary!
