Two mushroom girls, Arriala the herder and Erriela the scribe, get married. What starts out as a marriage to tie tribes together in times of dwindling supplies turns into true love, but when a member of the Royal family of this all-woman planet is also in love with Erriela, she kidnaps her to become her wife! Arriala will use all of her skills and stop at nothing to get her loved one back in this single volume story. This is a monster girl lover nerds dream! While the actual panels may not be too text heavy, between chapters there is "Shroom~pedia" that explains the different ways of the world and different techniques of how these girls/women live, along with the other fungi that inhabits the world. In the middle of the volume there is also a bonus Shroom~pedia special that describes the organisms and ecosystems of the world, the hierarchy of the planet and countries, currency, and how crimes are dealt with. The art is absolutely stunning! The amount of detail in everything is amazing, right down to the different characters, who may look very similar to one another, but in this artist hands they are easily identifiable as long as you pay attention to details. This may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I loved the worldbuilding and sweet wholesomeness of this book. I really wish they'd make a second story set in this world.
