I Loved It

I loved it! Murder in the Family was a very entertaining read for me. Molly McClelland is a storm chaser who has just learned that her hoarder aunt has died and she inherits everything. Molly had run away from the place she grew up in and the family that she loathes because of their greed. She did not want any more to do with this small town and she definitely doesn't want any of the things in her aunt's house. Molly arrives back in town only to discover that her aunt was a hoarder, and Molly suspects she was murdered by someone in the family. When she begins cleaning out the mess, she uncovers caches of cash, jewels, journals and a lot more than she bargained for. Her homecoming reignites the decades old family conflict that drove her away in the first place. Molly teams up with the local sheriff Greg Olson to find the truth. The story is fast paced and moves along well, I loved Molly's personality and her determination, but there were some flaws. If you have been attacked not one time but several times and almost killed, I feel you would be more on your guard than she was. Also, to leave the house unguarded full of valuables that she knows the "family" covets, was inviting them to come in and steal. There were some questions, in my mind, about the violations of the court pertaining to the probate of the will and how that was not mentioned again or glossed over at the end that I found a little off and the ending was a little too abrupt with a lot left unanswered in my mind. But I still enjoyed the story immensely. I look forward to reading another Ramona Richards novel.
