Not my fave in the series but still good....

How did she get herself into this mess? All Detective Deb Ralston wanted to do was relax and enjoy a weekend long birthday bash for Margali Bowman, a former movie star and the mother of Deb's childhood friend Fara. Instead, she finds all sorts of underlying intrigues leading up to a closed room murder of Margali. Will Deb uncover the identity of the murderer? MURDER AT THE BLUE OWL is an excellent throwback to the old locked room mystery classics. There are numerous red herrings as even Margali herself is not without blame in the clever machinations of this storyline. The plot only gets more and more devious as Lee Martin carefully unveils the details. MURDER AT THE BLUE OWL has a whole host of extraordinarily odd and twisted characters. Each trail Deb follows leads her on to yet another perverse set of circumstances. The identity of the murderer isn't easily discerned, making for quite a fascinating read. Lee Martin's series featuring Detective Deb Ralston survives the test of time as the stories remain interesting, despite being published quite some time ago. While this is not my favorite of the series, it is still well worth the time to read. COURTESY OF CK2S KWIPS AND KRITIQUES
