pulp fiction and politically incorrect social commentary

The Destroyer is way better that the Executioner, who seems to spend his time chasing down mafiosi. Remo Williams and his mentor Chiun, tend to go after the Hitler of the month, such as trial lawyers, arab terrorists, and the Kennedy clan. In this book it is clearly Al Sharpton, but it was written before that fat knuckle-head was big news. That is why the Destroyer was so much fun to read prior to the Reagan era. Thus book attacked every angle of decaying New York sociopathy from idiotic police to schools that sucked up taxpayers' money as if there was no tomorrow. Never mind that illiterate morons were being chucked out into society with nothing more than 12 years of compulsory attendance. The plot of Murphy and Sapir's novel is pretty threadbare at best, but the fun is in the color of the story. And of course the chop sockey. Disgusting filthy people have their corrupt and worthless existences terminated with extreme prejudice saving the general public the expense of a trial. Suits me just fine, after all it's only fiction. Some readers might find this novel to be racist, tough break. Reality sucks.

Mugger Blood

The men's action adventure is a genre that deserves much more respect than it gets. Authors Murphy and Sapir stand head and shoulders above all others in this field. Each novel has essentially the same plot so don't look for this to be a variable, the art is in the colors, the details and the timeliness. This volume is the thirtieth in a series. The first Remo Williams book was an astonishing blend of chopsockey and rebellion, which is why I've been such a loyal reader for the past quarter century. While all their books are exciting to read, Mugger Blood hit every politically incorrect button at once. It shows the federal spy agencies to be slow and inept, in that they squash all creativity. It is also a running critique of New York's fabulous municipal corruption, ruined schools that don't teach, nepotism, and a condemnation of the parasitic corporations that feed off the blight caused by politicians who never think past the next election. All the while pandering to every ethnic group with empty promises. Tom Wolfe expanded on these themes in Bonfire of the Vanities, but you would have read it here first in 1979.
