I bought this book because I saw it on the shelf of one of my company's customers. I haven't used DOS for at least a decade but my hobby interests lean toward older non-XP/Vista OS's for PC command and control. This is a great book! It's not about batch programming as a lot of DOS book are, but about DOS from the x86 processor standpoint. If you need to bridge the gap between assembly programming the x86 and using higher level languages you should buy and read this book. It's clear and written in a way so as to be useful as a reference; each chapter can be read and utilized individually. This book has prompted new interest in DOS for me. Makes me wonder why I even use non-commandline OS's.
