So real!

This debut novel was very well written. The story just flowed. It was so interesting, that I didn't want to put it down. I'm looking forward to the next book.

I was impressed with the author's candor and realism.

Brian Peterson has a sharp talent for 'telling it like it is'. He created characters who were well developed and interesting. His portrayal of the leading male Tony, gave the reader a glimpse of one who was struggling to stay true to himself despite examples and pressures from peers, family and life itself. While reading Move Over Girl, I felt like I was absorbed in the mind of a young brother who was coming of age. Tony made decisions that we all have had to at some point in life. His dialogue and emotions were well written and revealed a man who was was thoughtfully facing life instead of hiding behind his fears and inhibitions. After reading Move Over Girl, I reflected on the story's outcome and felt satisfied that Tony's patience and honesty had led him to a happy outcome! I eagerly await Mr. Peterson's next work!

EXCELLENT BOOK!!!

Once I started reading this book, I couldn't put it down!. The storyline and well-developed characters had me open from the first page until the last. I highly recommend this book for everyone-- females who want to understand the men in their lives, men who want to see themselves or brothers they know represented in a REAL way, or anyone who wants to be intellectually entertained. Brian Peterson is the best thing to happen to the fictional scene in a loooong time. I'm glad he came strong his first time out, and I hope to hear more from this new voice in the near future.

A Great Read

I am happy I read this book It gives the males' perspective of a whole lot of personal issues. It also made me think about things in my current realationship that need to be said and done. I was truly impressed with the authors ability to express himself so clearly. He made the character Tonio very life-like and lovable. After I started this book I was unable to put it down.

This book is excellent!!! A view of the Black college man.

This book is the bomb! It talks about relationships, especially in college, but from a man's perspective. It tells us of a man's search for love, consolation-prize-lust, and other factors that effect his world. Caution: This book is not a mushy romance novel. 'Move over girl' is raw, and yes, it talks about SEX. Ladies should read this and figure out where they may stand in a man's estimation. Are you "Tameka the Freaka" , the girl he shouldn't have let go, or somewhere in between? For men, this book explores the aspects of your relationships with women. It has both the topics that might be too soft to discuss with your boys, and the ideas that are too raw to bounce off of your lady friends. Freshman entering college, please read this book before you make your mark on campus. Time is of the essence for all of you because before you've realized it you've made a mistake or two that can only be attributed to ignorance. Relationships effect all aspects of our lives. Because of this fact, the insight that Brian Peterson's 'move over girl' drops on us is truly empowering.
