Within a 75-mile radius of Philadelphia, riders can pedal their mountain bikes through dense, deciduous forest; ancient pine barrens; pastoral, rolling, farmland; the Pocono Mountains; and Fairmount... This description may be from another edition of this product.
Overall the book is well done. It provides directions to each location, some history, parking information, and a good overview. The trail description is broken down by landmarks and it describes the terrain that will be encountered during the ride. For each trail, there is a chart showing elevation change and this really gives you a sense of how challenging or easy rides are going to be. A map of each trail is also included. There is also a good mix of easy, moderate, and challenging (technical) trails. My only negative comment about the book is the nice trails in the Philadelphia area that were not included: Green Lane (Red trail), Core Creek Park, Mercer County Park, Clayton Park, and Idlewood. Maybe some of these will be included in the next edition?
